For over fifteen years I have worked as a designer and art director in book publishing, advertising, packaging, wine labels, exhibit design, inhouse design and retail marketing.
Currently I am an Associate Art Director for Gap. On top of my full time work, I enjoy helping small winemakers with branding and packaging and always spend at least one night a week designing a wedding or shower invitation for a friend.

Over the past year and a half, I have directed all global digital and print creative including emails, advertising, in store signage, seasonal windows, permanent store graphics and packaging for 5 countries; strategically treating each piece as an opportunity to build brand strength and customer engagement.
Redesigned a complicated creative pipeline, implementing a streamlined process for the marketing team; from kick off to printer release, improving efficiency and team health.
Took over the largest overhaul of Gap Factory’s permanent sign package in 10+ years mid-project, art directing and managing the last 13 months of a 27-month long project. 412 Gap Factory stores in 7 countries will receive the new sign library in June.
Manage a global marketing creative and production team of 5, including a designer in Japan and a rotating group of contractors. Support the team with mentoring, team meetings, brainstorms, and inspiration trips. Regularly attend leadership classes and HR meetings to help retain talent, build team morale, and resolve behavior and under performance.
Since April of last year, I took over art direction of social media. After adding dedicated social photoshoots, art directing and concepting with fun concepts (and sometimes puppies), our Instagram following has grown 191% and a +32% increase in engagement across all social channels.
Lead creative concepting for seasonal campaign, partnering with copywriter to develop a comprehensive, multi-channel plan that includes window and in store ideas, photo direction, typography and overall look and feel. Present campaign to top leadership and own execution of concept.
Partner with visual merchandising and store design teams to prototype new prop and signage innovations for in store and windows to help drive customer engagement.
First team at Gap, Inc. to successfully merge photo planning and creative execution of photoshoots with in store and online channels.

Designed signage, in store graphics and packaging for products and consumables, using heavy hand illustration and type. Also collaborated with the visual merchandising team to innovate new in store signage ideas.

Art directed and managed a team of 3, delivering results and keeping team morale up, all while undergoing enormous global corporate restructuring.
Executed all Kids and Baby in store needs, promotional sale windows, GapCard collateral, and direct mail.
Led kick off meetings, presented creative weekly to vice president and top leaders, and partnered with copy and strategy team to creatively solve marketing objectives.
Lead designer for promotions and the GapCard. Collaborated with CRM and copy team to support all print and digital assets for card acquisition, retention and communication needs such as direct mail with a 1.5 million distribution.
Collaborated with copy and store design teams on special projects including global sale signage, store openings, large scale flagship installations, gift cards, POP displays, and holiday collateral.
Lead Designer, Bay Area Discovery Museum 4.06-2.08
As the only designer on a marketing team of 2, I was able to lead the creative direction of the Museum for 3 years, handling every part of the creative process including managing vendor relations and building strong connections withevery department to meet all of there design needs. I designed everything from presentations for the director, invitations for the galas and brochures for the camps.
Implemented new branding elements, including expanding colors and iconography to increase engagement with a visitor population of non-readers under 7.
Redesigned quarterly membership newsletter into a 20 page membership magazine. Taking photos and adding fun and engaging new elements.
Collaborated with exhibits director to create and innovate new ways to interact and delight visitors. Projects included wayfinding signage, maps, architectural fixtures, information graphics and windows.
Worked monthly on the floor to understand visitor experience. Trained in the procedural protocol for lost children, enforcing museum rules and nuances of early childhood play.
